Removing Phone Book Service

If you need to delete data or remove the server, you may have to change Windows NT security settings so that you will have access to do so. The following steps outline this process.

To change directory access (for NTFS partitions only)

  1. In Windows NT Explorer, right-click the Data folder under C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Phone Book Service.

  2. Click Properties.

  3. Click the Security tab, and then click Permissions.

  4. Select Change as the Type of Access.

To remove Phone Book Service

  1. In Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs.

  2. Select Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack.

  3. Click Add/Remove.

  4. In the Select components list, click Internet Connection Services for RAS, and then click Show Subcomponents.

  5. Click Connection Point Services, click Show Subcomponents, and then make sure Phone Book Service is not selected.

When you remove Phone Book Service, you will have to manually delete the data that you want completely removed.

To delete phone book data from the server

  1. Click Start, click Programs, and then click Windows NT Explorer.

  2. Delete the Data folder under C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Phone Book Service.
