Using the Command Line to Publish Phone Books

The command for publishing a phone book relies on the information specified in the Phone Book Administrator’s Options dialog box (Server address, administrative user name, and password). The command-line switches are case-sensitive, and all errors are logged to the import.log file located in the \Pba directory. The following switches allow you to use the command-line interface to post to the server.

Switch Description
/B phone_book_name The name of the phone book to post to the server
/? The list of command-line switches

The following is an example of how you would use the command-line interface to post the ByteComp phone book.

Pbadmin /B ByteComp

Note

The command line interface does not support posting or importing phone books between two different platforms (for example, from an x86 computer to an Alpha computer). If you need to do this, use Phone Book Administrator.
