This section provides an overview of Internet Authentication Services software. It describes how IAS enables corporations to use low-cost Internet lines, technology, and billing rates to set up secure private networks for telecommuters and traveling employees. It describes how IAS can be used by corporations in conjunction with (or independent of) an Internet service provider (ISP) to offer secure access to the corporate network over Internet lines. IAS is used by corporate administrators to authenticate users seeking access to a public network. It provides a low-cost, secure telecommuting implementation that integrates with RADIUS servers that are operated by Internet Service Providers.
