Security and Site Preparation
Your IAS servers will be handling private corporate data communications. This type of information is a popular target for “hacking,” so you must make sure the data is safe from unwanted internal and external influences. The following safety measures are essential:
-
Microsoft highly recommends that IAS should be installed on a machine dedicated solely as a Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) server to eliminate the possibility of unauthorized users gaining access to the system.
-
The IAS machine should be physically secured as well. To avoid tampering, install a keyswitch for the power button and make sure that physical access to the machine is restricted.
